Greetings again Pipiripi,
I believe that Jesus is speaking about his moral relationship with God, and how we can achieve this through accepting that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life John 12:26, 14:5-6, and this would be revealed by Jesus going to the crucifixion.
Good SDA concepts, but this does not agree with Isaiah 2:1-4 and Zechariah 14 where the mortal nations are taught by the faithful during the 1000 years of the Kingdom of God upon the earth.
Yes, 1 Corinthians is relevant and please consider again 1 Corinthians 15:20-28 which describes the 1000 year Kingdom upon the earth and also expounds Psalm 8.
Kind regards
Trevor
Not a salvation issue more of how can we hear what the Holy Spirit says to the churches or families as nations . He sets the standard in the opening of Revelation the last chapter of the Bible .
Many dismiss or ignore the signified language of parables and literalize the parables for some reason or other.?.
Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and
he sent and
signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
The
now represents the beginning of the last days .Its easy to see the word "thousand" represents a unknown when viewing parables (the signified tongue of God) . The demonstration has been over a literal thousands years
twice and then some.
1 Corinthians 15:20 But
now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
The first three uses sets the stage .
Psalm 90:4 For a
thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a
watch in the night.
God lives outside of time.
Ecclesiastes 6:6 Yea, though he live a
thousand yearstwice told, yet hath he seen no good: do not all go to one place?
Psalm 90:4 For a
thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a
watch in the night.
God lives outside of time.
Psalm 90:4 For a
thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a
watch in the night.
God lives outside of time.
2 Peter 3:8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a
thousand years, and a
thousand years as one day.
The word thousand is used that way throughout the bible to represent a unknown. Many verses testify to the use of that metaphor (thousand)
The cattle upon a
thousand hills. (all the cattle)
Psalm 50:10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a
thousand hills.
God does not number time periods or people. People are quick to include themselves as one of the number. The Mormon ran out of numbers (144,4000 by what they called discreet elders they claim to be "higher" priesthood.
Comparing themselves to themselves and not searching the meaning of the parable.
2 Corinthians 10:12 For we
dare not make ourselves
of the number, or
compare ourselves with some that
commend themselves: but
they measuring themselves by
themselves, and
comparing themselves among
themselves, are
not wise.
