Confessing Jesus is it enough?

I think that's where the Good Shepherd steps in.
He leaves the ninety-nine to go after the one to bring them back.
Which probably involves some soil-conditioning. - LOL

Hosea 10:12 KJV
Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground:
for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

Is it simply not possible then for the wayward sheep to tell the shepherd to go away and leave him alone?

I agree. Would you say that someone who begins as a disciple / convert could reject the teacher and become the disciple / convert of another teacher?
Certainly. But...
Not sure I would call it a conversion if the same Lord is being served.

1 Corinthians 3:4-6 NET
For whenever someone says, “I am with Paul,” or “I am with Apollos,”
are you not merely human?[a]
5 What is Apollos, really? Or what is Paul?
Servants through whom you came to believe,
and each of us in the ministry the Lord gave us.[b]
6 I planted,[c] Apollos watered, but God caused it to grow.

Once converted always converted?

To what end?
Anything is possible, I suppose.

Is the will of humankind superior to God's will?
It is God's will that all be saved.

My position:
We cannot by an act of our own will undo what only God could do in the first place.
Even in the case of reprobation it is God's choice, not ours. And the intentions of the Good Shepard are to bring them back.

I was one such lost sheep. Yet here I am.

Once converted always converted?
--- PARODY ---
Son: I wish I had never been born!
Mom: Oh, my. You shouldn't talk that way.
Son: That's how I feel.
Mom: What's wrong, dear?
Son: Can't I just go back where I came from?
Mom: Say what? !!!

My Question is in reference to a Jewish discipline ….

Would a Jewish disciple of a Jewish teacher need to convert to belief in a deity which isn’t the God of the Jews?

… because there is no scriptural reference of a gentile disciple to my knowledge.

When Jesus said to go and make disciples of all the nations (Matthew 28:18) wouldn’t that have to include gentiles?

Jesus told them not to go to the gentiles.

These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
— Matthew 10:5

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
— Matthew 28:19

To what end?

To death. Christian converts to other religions isn’t uncommon.

Anything is possible, I suppose.

Hebrews 6:4 speaks about it being impossible to renew those who have fallen away.

Is the will of humankind superior to God's will?
It is God's will that all be saved.

That’s the thought of universalism. The will of man doesn’t matter. All men will be saved because that is God’s will. It denies the destruction of man in the lake of fire.
