Belief a Conscious Choice?

Greetings Bladerunner,
Man has a will that He uses in doing his daily sinning...However, God conditions ones heart and mind to seek Jesus, gives them the faith needed for another gift of salvation...All so man can not boast it was he who chose GOD. God does it all.
This may be a form of Calvinism, but this seems to go close to the concept that God only chooses some for salvation, while the rest are condemned no matter what they do. It is as if we are almost robots with no real choice. I suggest that God has created man and is greater than such a grotesque philosophy.

Kind regards
Trevor

again total depravity is biblical but again you deny it....How many more doctrines are you going to deny.
These are God's doctrines

Blade
Total depravity is not a biblical doctrine, Blade. It's a Calvinist doctrine.

I believe in doctrines that the Bible teaches. God wants everyone to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Tim 2:4). He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Pet 3:9). ANYONE has the capacity to hear and believe the Gospel.

While I do not agree with everything that Calvin promoted but the fact that Man is totally deprived and will never seek Jesus Christ or God by His own free will...NOTE: this is Biblical if you care to look

So in essence, Jesus is saving millions who would face condemnation because of the their FREE-WILL.

Now think about that for a while and quit Blaming Jesus for sending millions to Hell...Each of them is sending themselves to HEll.

No, it is a doctrine of the WORD of GOD....and it is in the Bible.... Sorry, you lose again

Rom 1:28-31."Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy."

2 Pe 2:18-19.."For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of the flesh, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error. They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for “people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.”

He wants everybody but has no power to accomplish it?

In Philippian 1:6 we are informed if he began the god work of salvation in us he will finish what he started He is our confidence we put no confidence in our own corrupted dying flesh .

As many as the father gave to the Son they alone can come . The word as many speaks of a remnant. As many is used 72 times in the new to represent a remnant

John 17:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them (alone) gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name

What's this I see? Is that the NIV, Blade? You have to use a "heretical translation" to demonstrate that the Calvinist doctrine of total depravity is in the Bible? tsk tsk What would your fellow KJVO adherents think of that?

There are countless examples of people in the Bible who weren't "totally depraved".

He wants everybody but has no power to accomplish it?
Yes, Garee. God gave people free will.
In Philippian 1:6 we are informed if he began the god work of salvation in us he will finish what he started He is our confidence we put no confidence in our own corrupted dying flesh .
The good work of salvation in us begins when a person chooses to believe the Gospel.

As many as the father gave to the Son they alone can come . The word as many speaks of a remnant. As many is used 72 times in the new to represent a remnant
The remnant are people who choose to believe.

John 17:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them (alone) gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name
Anyone can choose to receive him.

Yes, Garee. God gave people free will.
As a result of salvation or free will the very power to receive it?
The good work of salvation in us begins when a person chooses to believe the Gospel.
Who begins it?
The remnant are people who choose to believe.
Those empowered to believe?

Anyone can choose to receive him
Anyone or the ones he gives power to? as many as the father gives. . . or the corrupted will of mankind as slave to sin. . powerless ?

No man can serve two masters .
