Mat 28:19
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mat 28:20
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway,
even unto the end of the world. Amen.
This is spoken to the eleven. Matthias was added, Paul ws added also - and I do not think there were RESTRICTIONS on who could baptize.
1Pe 2:9
But ye
are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
I believe in the priesthood of the believer. I am not too convinced of what is called THE CLERGY - and it may be the Nicolaitians.
In any case, I do not look for special "authority" to preach, baptize, be a pastor, or whatever.
Only Bishops and Deacons had certain qualifications.
