Why Salvation is by Faith Alone

Salvation is by faith alone, because it is by Christ alone. It can only be by Christ alone simply because God does not accept the works or the obedience of sinners of which we are all one of. One only has to commit one sin to be a sinner. Paul said, "There is none righteous, no, not one". "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:10, 23.

Becoming a Christian or becoming religious does not change the fact that we are sinners. Paul struggled with sin just like we do, Romans 7:7-25. Many of the prophets and patriarchs confessed that they were sinners, Isaiah 64:6. Sin is the transgression of God's holy law. The law is spiritual. The Pharisees looked good on the outside, but inward they were full of sin and hypocrisy, Matthew 23:25-28. The Spirit is a discerner of the thoughts and the intents of the heart, Hebrews 4:12. Jesus said that if you lust you have committed adultery in your heart, Matthew 5:28, 29.

Religion does not make one holy, Religion makes one a hypocrite. Jesus said, "Be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect" Matthew 5:48. Do you have the confidence to stand before a holy God in the judgment and profess your righteousness? God only accepts perfection. We are accepted only in Christ and because of Christ. Jesus said, "Many will say to me in that day (judgment day) Lord, Lord, didn't we...." These are people that were trusting in their good works to save them. It didn't work. Jesus said, "Depart from me I never knew you" Matthew 7:23.

Salvation is a free gift from God, Ephesians 2:8. A free gift cannot be earned or deserved, otherwise it would not be a free gift. It most certainly is not by works, "But to him that does NO WORKS but believes on him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness" Romans 4:5. A work is any religious thing that one might do to earn favor with God. Christians should do good works not to be saved, but because they are saved, Ephesians 2:10. The emphasis in the New Testament is faith, not works. The whole 11th Chapter of Hebrews is about those that had faith, "Abraham believed God and it was accounted unto him for righteousness" Romans 4:3.

1. Nowhere does scripture say we are saved by faith alone.

2. it doesn't follow that because Christ saves us that we have no part in our initial justification.
Scripture tells us there is something we must do.
Jesus said "Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved" (Mk 16:16)
Peter wrote "Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you" (1Pet 3:21)

Being baptised is not a "work" that earns us salvation. It is an act of obedience.
When Adam sinned he did two things;
1. He stopped believing.
2. He was disobedient.
So in baptism we express belief and we act in obedience

3. Where does scripture say God does not accept the works or obedience of sinners?
Peter was sent to Cornelius. It says in Acts 11:14 that Peter “will speak words to you [Cornelius] by which you and all your household will be saved” Will be saved means they were not saved already.
But Cornelius was already acceptable to God
The angel said to Cornelius "Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God" (Acts 10:31)

One of the biggest problems with Catholicism is the belief that you can merit salvation by what you do or by what you have become. This makes God the minister of sinners. God accepts no man's person, "For there is no respect of persons with God" Romans 2:11. We are acceptable to God only in Christ and because of Christ. God must see us "In Christ" or we will not be saved. If anyone goes to heaven it will have to be on the merits of Jesus Christ and not our own. Simply because, "There is none righteous, no, not one" Romans 3:10. This is why salvation is totally and completely outside of us and is only found in the work and the person of Jesus Christ, plus nothing. Salvation is by faith alone, because it is by Christ alone.

I see you made no attempt to reply to refute my points.
But then as your Bible only has Paul's writings I guess Jesus, Peter and the writer of Acts are only mere men promoting a false gospel.

Faith being the substance of things hoped for and the proof of things unseen, is of that essence of spirit from 'God' that each soul has access to, in order to commune to evolve, progress and ascend towards God-communion and realization of ones true potential and sonship in the divine.

Of course 'faith', born of the Spirit in the soul, is the grounds and motivation of guiding a soul towards its spiritual goal of reunion and serving the Spirit. - works or fruits of one's communion comes naturally from the divine nature itself, so that one who abides in 'God' will bear the fruit of his nature and its habits of conduct. A tree is known by its fruits, so all depends on what one gives his attention to, to allow that influence to produces its effects, as all seeds will produce after their own kind by universal law.

All comes from grace thru faith, as love inspires and motivates the soul Godward,......and thus all life is served and all beings are happy and fulfilled :)

In-joy!

When your name is called, and you walk into the judgment and begin to profess your righteousness. "Lord, Lord, didn't I...." Matthew 7:21-23. Please remember that this Christian tried to warn you.

Faith and the Holy Spirit is only given to those that hear and believe the Gospel, Romans 10:17.

Faith is a rest. We that have been born again have ceased from our own works (religion) and are resting in the work and the person of Jesus Christ, Hebrews 4:10.

To not enter into this rest is to be under God's wrath, Hebrews 4:3.

So you believe what Jesus says in Mt 7 but not in Mk 16:16. You seem to have a very selective belief system.

we all do.

That's why it is important to follow the whole context of the Bible.

And most of us don't follow the whole context of the Bible.

You are in total and complete denial of the New Covenant of the Gospel and justification by faith. All of the Old Covenant Gospels are history, Hebrews 8:13. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are no longer relevant because the law has been abolished, Ephesians 2:15. You can't believe this because it would be the end of your religion.

Matthew, Mark, Luke and John not relevant.

No wonder Pateism is such weird theology.
